About Ling Ly Tan

Ling is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst and an Ontario Autism Program Clinical Supervisor with 17 years of direct clinical experience implementing behavioural interventions for people with autism and developmental disabilities. She previously served as Co-Chair for Seneca College's Program Advisory Committee for Behavioural Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, alongside teaching courses in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) for 5 years. She has delivered parent training workshops for Autism Ontario, and has worked internationally to increase awareness on ABA and evidence based practices for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.

Ling is extensively trained in the application of Skinner’s Analysis of Verbal Behaviour and Relational Frame Theory (RFT) to teach language and communication, including teaching sign language, PECS, and other electronic communication devices to non-verbal children and adults.

As part of a strong desire to serve the disability population at large, she created Linggo- a novel Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system designed for non-verbal individuals with autism, global developmental delays, acquired brain injury and progressive neurological diseases. Linggo has received two research grants to further explore the effects of communication, language and literacy for children and adults with complex communication needs.
