AmpSurf™ is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to Promote, Inspire, Educate, and Rehabilitate (PIER) all people with disabilities and their families through adaptive surfing and other outdoor activities.
Adaptive Surfing and Surf Therapy is growing around the world as an effective way to rehabilitate from mental health, physical disabilities and injuries. As Surf Therapy continues to grow it is important that any instructor entering the water to assist these individuals have knowledge of what challenges different disabilities present and how to adapt to make sure that the experience is safe and positive. The classroom portion of the training will cover various disabilities and how to create a positive and safe experience for participants taking part in Surf Therapy. Everything learnt in the classroom is put into practice in beach training and evaluation.
