This 1-day workshop is a collaboration with Ability 360 and the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence. The morning session will provide a discussion on disability history and culture, practical language, and etiquette skills will be reviewed that will help professionals provide better interaction and promote client empowerment and independence. We will provide an overview of the dynamics of sexual and domestic violence, specifically as it relates to survivors with disabilities. Attendees will learn how to better serve survivors in this community in order to increase safety and improve their advocacy experience. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with organizations who directly serve people with disabilities and organizations that serve survivors of sexual and domestic violence.

  • Registration is required for the training.

  • Register early! Training fills quickly and registration is handled on a first come, first serve basis. Space is limited.

  • Payment for this training must be received two weeks in advance of the training.

  • Cancellations must be made at least one week prior.

  • NO SHOWS will be charged a $50.00 fee.

“How will they affect your loved one living with a disability"

Join us at an informative workshop to learn how the Arizona ABLE program will open up life improving opportunities for people with disabilities and their families. Until recently, individual receiving federal benefits have been restricted in the amount of money they can save, potentially keeping them in poverty and preventing them from planning for the future. For many people disabilities, the fear of losing critical public benefits, coupled with the high cost of support, has limited them from building financial security and participating in the workforce.

This workshop will explain how to use these very important accounts and how to integrate them with other planning tools to protect your loved ones quality of life.
