Trauma Informed Behavioral Services in the Intellectual Disability Service System

The words “Trauma Informed” are often used in Human services yet many providers, professionals, and families struggle with what the words mean from a practical perspective. This training and workshop will focus on:

• Basic definitions and diagnostics of trauma
• Impact of trauma on service recipients AND providers
• Best practices and principles for providers and administrators
• Workshop exercises on trauma informed interactional skills

This training and workshop are interactional. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and experiences to share and discuss with the group.

This training is designed to complement Trauma Informed Risk Assessment and Management in the ID Service System.
