Project ImPACT Second Edition Introductory Workshop

ABOUT PROJECT IMPACT

Project ImPACT is an evidence-based intervention that teaches social communication to children with autism spectrum (ASD) and related disorders ages 18 months to 6 years. It uses a blend of developmental and naturalistic behavioral intervention strategies that are compatible with a variety of intervention models. It can be used as a direct intervention or a parent-mediated intervention. The parent-mediated intervention model uses effective methods for coaching parents and can be implemented in either an individual or group format.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

This 2-day workshop (September 20-21, 8:30AM-4:00PM) is open to providers who would like to use the Project ImPACT intervention with children with ASD and related disorders. The workshop will use a combination of lecture, role play, and small group discussion to introduce attendees to the Project ImPACT intervention techniques. Attendees will also learn how to use the Project ImPACT Second Edition curriculum to teach parents of children with autism to promote social communication during daily routines and activities. Attendees must complete a 6-hour Online Tutorial prior to attending the workshop. You will be sent a link to the tutorial a minimum of 2 weeks before the workshop.

The cost of the 2-day Workshop with the Online Tutorial will be $625, and will include the curriculum, Teaching Social Communication to Children with Autism, Trainer and Parent manual set. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

ABOUT THE TRAINERS

The workshop will be conducted by Brooke Ingersoll, Ph.D. and her staff at Michigan State University. Dr. Ingersoll is a licensed psychologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and one of the developers of the curriculum. She has published numerous research articles and book chapters on evidence-based interventions for children with autism spectrum disorders.
