About this Event
This instructor development course (1239-20764) is designed to enhance law enforcement response to people with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, or substance use disorders. Graduating agency trainers will be prepared to return to their agency and regions to present local training.
Includes interactive exercises, de-escalation strategies, understanding sensory response issues, empathy building, and field reference card instruction.
Course is offered tuition free through State Council on Developmental Disabilities Cycle 41 Grant for active officers or public safety dispatchers employed by POST-reimbursable agencies.
