Matt Herring Foundation's Overdose Awareness Memorial Walk
Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 9 AM - 12 PM EDT

2nd Annual Walk on International Overdose Awareness Day. Overdose Love Lock Gate and Speakers will be present. Teams welcome.

About this Event

MATT stands for Managing Addiction Through Teamwork. The Overdose Awareness Walk is our biggest fundraiser of the year - This is the second year we have invited like minded local agencies and foundations that work hard to help manage problems caused by addiction, and share what they have to offer to the community. Come walk with us to remember those who have lost their lives to overdose and support those with lives affected by substance use. Walk to stop the stigma. Walk to feel connected.

Rallying together encourages people to feel more connected. Addiction is a health issue, NOT a moral issue. Stigma won’t obstruct progress once we show there is no shame in an individual’s struggle against substance use disorders. We fight to end the stigma in hopes of ending the losses.

The County of Dutchess Department of Behavioral Health will be supplying Naloxone (Narcan) to those who need it. Matt Herring Foundation will be offering Narcan training on site.
