Leah’s Light second annual 5km walk/run for overdose awareness
Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10 AM - 12 PM MDT

The Leah's Light 5km walk/run for overdose awareness is an initiative to break the stigma and shame surrounding addiction and overdose. After my sister Leah passed away of an accidental Fentynal overdose I knew I needed to do something to help others and to let my sisters beautiful light keep shining. Last year we rasied approximately $10,000 for the Turning Point Society of Central Alberta in Red Deer. Did you know in Canada every two hours someone looses their life to overdose? All money raised will go to Turning point for overdose prevention programming. Please join us for this family friendly event but please keep your pets at home. This year we will have live entertainment, naloxone training, and a bbq. You may register in person on the event day but please bring cash and t shirts will not be available.

Please be at the park to check in or register at 10:00. everyone will start the walk at approximately 10:30 and enjoy a BBQ and some live entertainment starting at 11:30.
