Hosted by the Augusta, Maine GRASP (Grief Recovery After a Substance Passing) Chapter Group.
This is a community event to provide education/resources, and bring about awareness in order to reduce stigma and further overdose deaths. It is also a time for remembering and honoring those lost to overdose. International Overdose Awareness Day is traditionally honored annually on August 31st.
There will be music, speakers, handouts, food for purchase, and naloxone kits available. Materials for making luminaries will be provided to honor loved ones who were lost, and their names will be announced. Pictures are welcome for our remembrance table. A small ceremony will conclude the event in their honor.
